Nicktoons Racing is a Nickelodeon crossover racing video game. The game was first developed by Pipe Dream and released for the Game Boy Color, while versions for different platforms were released in subsequent years. Most versions were developed by Software Creations with the exception of the Game Boy Advance version, which was developed by Crawfish Interactive, and the arcade version, which was developed by Chicago Gaming.

Reception[]

While the PS1 and PC were never reviewed, the game was received mix to positive reviews. IGN received the Gameboy Advance version a 8/10, while the Game Boy Color version received a 3/10.[1]

  • Most versions of this game have backwards compatibility.
    • The PS1 version can be played on all PS2 and PS3 units.
    • The PC version can be played on older computer units.
    • The GBA version can be played on all DS and DS Lite units.
    • The GBC version can be played on all Game Boy Advance/Game Boy Advance SP units.
    • The arcade version does not have backwards compatibility.
  • Norbert and Daggett's audio clips are from "Born to Be Beavers" and "Tree's Company."
  • The racing track Beaver Fever is named after both the Season 2 episode of the same name, as well as the song of the same name.
  • There are multiple episode references in the PlayStation, Arcade, and PC version of the game.
    • The billboard of Big Rabbit from "My Bunnyguard" is shown.
    • The El Grapadura billboard from "Tough Love" is shown.
    • The cow statue from "Tree's Company" is shown.
  • Norbert and Daggett's racing icons in the Game Boy Advance version of the game were ripped from "Born to Be Beavers."
  • In the Game Boy Color version of the game, Norbert and Daggett are separate drivers and are labeled incorrectly. Whereas in all the other versions, they're both the same driver.
  • In the cover art for the game, Norbert is in the back and Daggett is the one driving. However in the actual game, Norbert is the one driving while Daggett is in the back
  • The PS1 and PC versions have the same gameplay, while the Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Color, and Arcade versions each have their own gameplay style.
  • This was the only Nickelodeon video game where Norbert and Daggett are playable characters before they returned 23 years later as playable characters in Nickelodeon All Star Brawl 2 in 2023.
